Sigourney Weaver Said Anya Taylor-Joy Should Be in AVATAR and She Responded Saying It's "My Dream To Be Na'vi"
Sigourney Weaver is a centerpiece in the Avatar film franchise, and she is apparently recruiting. The three-time Academy Award nominee recently stated that she hoped her Avatar director, James Cameron, would see her most recent film, The Gorge, specifically for Anya Taylor-Joy’s performance. She said she thought that could lead to Taylor-Joy landing a role in the future Avatar films.
When this was relayed to Anya Taylor-Joy, who is known for her fantastic performances in The Queen’s Gambit, Last Night in Soho, and Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga, she had a major fangirl moment.
She told Entertainment Tonight on the red carpet at the premiere of The Gorge, "It is my dream to be Na'vi. I watched that movie eight times in a row once. I was sad.” She went on, “It's a long movie, yeah… It was after a party, it was the perfect thing."
It would be awesome if this came together, for everyone involved. We will just have to wait and see what James Cameron thinks of this whole thing, but I’d imagine a talent like Anya Taylor-Joy won’t go to waste.
