SILICON VALLEY Could Go For More Than 6 Seasons
Silicon Valley aired its Season 5 finale last night, and for once, things looked like they are about to go right for Pied Piper. Of course, that's fitting considering the original plan of the series was to go 6 seasons and then end things, and no one wants to see these guys fail after all their hard work. Co-showrunner Alec Berg recently spoke on his original commitment to the show with EW, and hinted that he may be interested in taking the show further than 6 seasons:
“I feel like it definitely could. That’s not to say it will. But also, the flip of that is that writing wise I always treat every season like it’s the last season. Like there’s nothing that we had that we held back. If we have a great idea, it goes in the show. It’s not as if we have outlines written for season 6 or season 6 and 7 depending; we kind of figure it out a bit as we go. So we’ll just see. I think what’s going to happen is we’re going to start writing season 6 and see how we feel and what we’re coming up with, and if we come up with a sort of great way to put the show to bed in season 6 then that might be it, and if the show is still giving us ideas and feeling fresh and like it still has legs then we might do more.”
I'd certainly be down for more seasons beyond Season 6! I feel like the show is just starting to find its groove without T.J. Miller on the show, and should they all become big-shot billionaires it would be hilarious to see this team continue to thrive throughout the tech world. What are your thoughts on more seasons? Do you think it's a bad idea?
