Simon Pegg Confirms He is Returning for MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE 7

Simon Pegg (Shaun of the Dead, Star Trek) has appeared in the last four Mission: Impossible films as the character Benji Dunn, who we’ve seen progress from an off-field technician to his promoted status of technical field agent, and a more prominent part in the story. While the creators of the films have confirmed that they are making a seventh and eighth film in the franchise, they have not yet confirmed that Pegg would return to the role.

But in an interview on the Canadian talk show Our City Tonight while promoting another film, Lost Transmissions, Pegg confirmed that he had a special commitment coming up, saying:

“I have another Mission: Impossible to start next year.”

Collider reported that this interview was recorded during the Whistler Film Festival in December, so next year now means this year, which lines up with MI:7 that has a July 23, 2021 release date. This is great news. Pegg is a great actor, and a great character in the Mission Impossible movies.

Are you excited for his return, and the seventh film in the franchise?
