Simon Pegg Discusses Quentin Tarantino's STAR TREK Film and What We Can Expect From It

As of right now, there are two separate Star Trek films in development at Paramount Pictures. Star Trek 4 is set to be directed by S.J. Clarkson (Heroes, Dexter, Jessica Jones) and the plot of which is said to revolve around Captain James T. Kirk (Chris Pine) and his dad George Kirk (Chis Hemsworth). The script is being written by J.D. Payne (Godzilla vs. Kong) and Patrick McKay (Star Trek Beyond).

Then there's the Quentin Tarantino film, which is currently being written by The Revenant screenwriter Mark L. Smith. We don't really know much about the story, but we do know that the plan is to give us an R-rated film.

Simon Pegg recently sat down with Comingsoon to talk about the future of the Star Trek film franchise and it's there that he talked about Tarantino's film and what we can expect from it. After saying that it's a good time for the Star Trek franchise, he said:

"Everyone sort of assumes it’s gonna be like 'Pulp Fiction' in space, but I think his devotion to 'Trek' and his understanding of it… It won’t be ordinary, it’ll have him all over it, but it won’t be anything a 'Star Trek' fan will have to worry about. He has an acute understanding of the story and he’d never do anything to tear it down. I haven’t read the treatment yet, but I might be able to in the next couple of weeks, so I’m excited about that."

Pegg is apparently a good friend of Tarantino. Most people know that Tarantino is a big Star Trek fan, so with his style mixed with his love for the franchise and knowledge, I can't wait to see what kind of movie he would deliver, but I never expected it to be Pulp Fiction in space. I like that Pegg says Tarantino's Star Trek film is nothing for fans to worry about because it seems like there are a lot of fans that are a little worried.

What do you think about what Pegg had to say here about Tarantino's Star Trek film?
