Simon Pegg Has No Respect For Anyone Who Likes The STAR WARS Prequel Films

Simon Pegg is a very opinionated guy, which is one of the reasons I'm such a big fan of his. He speaks his mind and tells people how it is. It's no secret that he's not a fan of the George Lucas' Star Wars prequel trilogy, and his hatred for The Phantom Menace even became a joke in his British comedy series, Spaced

His distaste for those films runs so deep that he doesn't have any respect for anyone who thinks they are good. He bluntly shared his thoughts about this with the New York Daily News:

"I don't really have any respect for anyone who thinks those films are good. They’re not. (They’re) a monumental misunderstanding of what the (original) three films are about. It's an exercise in utter infanticide ... (like) George Lucas killing his kid."

He went on to joke:

"Jar Jar Binks made the Ewoks look like f----g Shaft!"

Whoa! Tell us how you really feel, Simon! Like many of you, I've never been a fan of the prequel films. That being said, I know that there are fans out there who do defend them. I don't personally know anyone that does — hell, my kids didn't even like them! But for some reason those films did connect with some people, and they think they are good. I guess that means some of you aren't in Pegg's good graces. I'm sure you don't care, though, because you like what you like.

What are your thoughts on Pegg's comments?
