Simon Pegg Pitched a SHAUN OF THE DEAD Vampire Sequel to Edgar Wright Called FROM DUSK TILL SHAUN
Shaun of the Dead was such an amazingly funny movie and it played a huge role in launching the film careers of Edgar Wright, Simon Pegg, and Nick Frost. I've always thought it would've been fun to see a sequel, and while there have been rumors about a sequel happening, unfortunately, they aren't true.
But, that doesn't mean there wasn't an idea pitched at one point. In fact, Simon Pegg recently revealed that he pitched a sequel idea to Edgar Wright. The pitch was just made for fun, but it sounds like a great film concept that I'd love to see happen! It's a vampire-themed film that would be called From Dusk Till Shaun.
EW recently published an article that gives us an oral history of Shaun of the Dead, and while talking to Simon Pegg, he revealed:
“I jokingly wrote a treatment for From Dusk Till Shaun, which was a sequel. Edgar thought it would be funny to do the film again, with vampires. It was all just pub talk.”
That would be funny! Now that the idea for the pitch is out there, it needs to happen! It's not too late! There are no details on how these vampires would be introduced into the world of Shaun, but I'd like to see how this story would play out! I just think these guys would have a blast making it and the fans would certainly have a blast watching it!
Wright, Pegg, and Frost are keeping pretty busy these days, but when they do find time to make another movie together, it would be cool if it ended up being From Dusk Till Shaun! What do you think of the pitch?
