Simon Pegg Says He Wants to Play Captain Britain

Many know Simon Pegg from movies like Hot Fuzz, Star Trek Beyond, and Mission: Impossible Rogue Nation. He has yet to be in a Marvel movie though, which feels like it’s becoming rarer as time goes by. However, he has a hero in mind of who he’d want to play if asked by Kevin Feige or someone else at Marvel. Captain Britain. In a recent interview with JoBlo, Pegg was asked what hero he’d like to play and here’s his explanation for why he chose Captain Britain:

“I mean, Captain Britain was this Marvel superhero that I loved growing up, ‘cause he was the British member of that community. I even have a Captain Britain mask when I was a kid, but I fear I would probably be slightly too old now, but if they do have... If a Captain Britain movie comes about, they’re gonna need a British cast, so...”

As far as I’m aware there’s no Captain Britain film in the works, but Marvel does have plenty of films scheduled that haven’t been announced. Maybe they’ll surprise everyone with that after Avengers 4. Pegg’s next adventure is in Mission: Impossible Fallout which will be in theaters July 27, 2018.
