Sinister New Trailer for Ethan Hawke's Intense Horror Thriller THE BLACK PHONE

Universal Pictures has released a new trailer for Blumhouse’s upcoming horror thriller The Black Phone, which comes from Doctor Strange and Sinister director Scott Derrickson. This looks like a great horror movie, and it’s based on a short story from Joe Hill from his bestselling book 20th Century Ghosts.

Ethan Hawke stars in the film and it features him in the most terrifying role of his career. He is joined by Mason Thames in his first-ever film role.

Thames plays Finney Shaw, ”a shy but clever 13-year-old boy who is abducted by a sadistic killer and trapped in a soundproof basement where screaming is of little use. When a disconnected phone on the wall begins to ring, Finney discovers that he can hear the voices of the killer’s previous victims. And they are dead set on making sure that what happened to them doesn’t happen to Finney.”

I really love the concept of this story, and it looks like Derrickson and his creative team did an awesome job of bringing it to life. Derrickson also co-wrote the script with C. Robert Cargill (Doctor Strange, Sinister).

The Black Phone is set to hit theaters during the summer on June 24th. Watch the new trailer below and let us know what you think!
