SINNERS Actor Delroy Lindo Asked Ryan Coogler If He Could Be In BLACK PANTHER 3 "If the Stars Line Up"
Despite a career spanning fifty years that began with the 1976 thriller Partners, Delroy Lindo, who went on to star in Malcolm X, Crooklyn, and The Harder They Fall, has just received his first Academy Award nomination for his role as Delta Slim in Sinners.
The actor talked about his approach to the role, a screenplay the actor is working on himself, and the fact that he threw his hat into the ring when working on Sinners with director Ryan Coogler to be in the next Black Panther sequel.
Lindo told The Hollywood Reporter in a recent interview that he’s put a bug in Coogler’s ear about his hopes of reuniting for the Black Panther 3 Marvel sequel that is currently in development.
“I expressed to Ryan that if the stars line up, I would love to be in Black Panther 3. One of the things he said to me was anything that he were to offer me, he would want to be sure that it was worth my time. He didn’t say exactly that, but that’s essentially the sentiment. And I respect that.”
It makes sense that Coogler would want to honor this great actor and make sure he had a part worth showing up for, and not just as a background filler. I think it would be cool if Lindo was added to the cast, but we will just have to wait and see if it comes together.
Black Panther 3 is in pre-production, and Marvel has not yet set a release date.
