SMALLVILLE's John Glover Explains How Lionel Luthor Is the Real Hero of the Series and Teases His SHAZAM! Role
Smallville star John Glover recently did an interview with Fandom Spotlite at Wizard World Cleveland in which he explains why Lionel Luthor was the real hero of Smallville. It basically boils down to how he was the guy who was making other people stronger. He also confirmed that he will be in DC’s upcoming film Shazam! and teased the person he’s playing in the film.
While he did not reveal who exactly he’s playing, he did say that he is playing a “father’s role” in Shazam! He didn’t offer any more details, but now fans can speculate about whose father he is playing.
Some fans have theorized that he could be playing the father of young Billy Baston, who is an orphan in the film after he lost his mother. But I think he’s way too old to be his dad. If he is related to Baston, I’d say that he’s his grandfather. But maybe he’s related to one of the other kids.
Check out the video below and let us know who you think Glover will be playing in Shazam! and his thoughts on Smallville.
Directed by David F. Sandberg, Shazam! stars Zachary Levi, Asher Angel, Mark Strong, Jack Dylan Grazer, Grace Fulton, Faithe Herman, Ian Chen, Jovan Armand, Cooper Andrews, Marta Milans, and Djimon Hounsou.
We all have a superhero inside us, it just takes a bit of magic to bring it out. In Billy Batson’s (Angel) case, by shouting out one word—SHAZAM!—this streetwise 14-year-old foster kid can turn into the adult Super Hero Shazam (Levi), courtesy of an ancient wizard. Still a kid at heart—inside a ripped, godlike body—Shazam revels in this adult version of himself by doing what any teen would do with superpowers: have fun with them! Can he fly? Does he have X-ray vision? Can he shoot lightning out of his hands? Can he skip his social studies test? Shazam sets out to test the limits of his abilities with the joyful recklessness of a child. But he’ll need to master these powers quickly in order to fight the deadly forces of evil controlled by Dr. Thaddeus Sivana (Strong).
Shazam! will be released in theaters on April 5, 2019.
