So, Uh…Chewbacca Mom Got Her Own Hasbro Action Figure and She's Charging $20 for an Autograph
I’m really not impressed by this whole Chewbacca Mom thing. I know that a ton of people in the world are enjoying the circus, but I just don’t get it. She put on a Chewbacca mask and laughed hysterically and now she is being showered with gifts from EVERYONE!
The latest thing to happen to her is that Hasbro presented her with a freakin’ Chewbacca Mom action figure. Candace Payne, a.k.a. Chewbacca Mom, was recently invited to the Hasbro headquarters, where she was presented with the action figure, which comes complete with 13 catchphrases. A few of those include her laugh, “That’s not me making that noise, it’s the mask,” and “I am such a happy Chewbacca."
The toy is basically her head on a Chewbacca body, and it even comes with a removable Chewbacca mask. It’s actually a pretty disturbing action figure, but she seems to be enjoying it and that’s all that matters, and hey… not everyone in the world can say they had a custom-made action figure of themselves from Hasbro.
She’s going to ride this wave of fame all the way to the point when Disney decides to buy the rights to her life story and turn it into a major motion picture.
After she was presented with the figure, she jumped on Facebook and did a live streaming video where she described the experience:
"So the weekend after this happened, I was able to go to the Facebook headquarters, and meet an incredible and integral part of this story and this journey, and I feel like today, right now, this moment, is a second divine moment that's happening. So, I want you, if you know how to use Emoji's, all of you out there in Facebook live world, I want you to do the handclap for these amazing people that develop stuff that your kids have...thrown at you and played with."
Even though I’m one of the few that isn’t embracing this whole thing involving Chewbacca Mom, I can’t deny the fact that she’s a very happy and joyful individual bringing joy and entertainment to others.
She recently attended Dallas Fan Expo where she was charging fans $20 for autographs. Apparently, her booth was right next to actor Jack Gleeson, who played Joffrey on Game of Thrones. I'm not sure who would fork over 20 bucks for the autograph of someone who is going through their 15-minutes of fame, but to each their own.
