Some Grisly Footage From The SUSPIRIA Remake Screened and It Was Horrifically Disturbing
Amazon Studios and Italian director Luca Guadagnino showed up at CinemaCon to share some footage of their remake of the classic Dario Argento horror film Suspiria, and this footage was not for the faint of heart. The bit of footage they shared was absolutely horrifying.
The scene features Dakota Johnson practicing her ballet moves while at the haunting dance company. The thing is, every dance movie that she pulls off has a disturbingly nightmarish consequence... for another dancer in another studio.
As Johnson's character practices the other young women is being completely ripped apart! Literally, she is being torn and broken. The sounds of the flesh and bones stretching, ripping, and breaking, was enough to have those in attendance looking away in horror.
By the time the scene comes to a close, the young dancer is nothing but a ball of blood, broken bones, urine, and spittle. It was complete and utter madness.
Look, I am a huge fan of the original horror film. It's one of my favorites, but this remake has taken things to a disturbing new level that might even make true horror film fans cringe.
I included a teaser poster above that was released for the film shortly after the footage screened. The movie also stars Tilda Swinton (Doctor Strange), Chloë Grace Moretz (Kick-Ass), Mia Goth (A Cure for Wellness) and Jessica Harper of the original film. Here's the synopsis:
Susie Bannion, a young American woman, travels to the prestigious Markos Tanz Company in Berlin in the year 1977. She arrives just as one of the Company’s members, Patricia, has disappeared under mysterious circumstances. As Susie makes extraordinary progress under the guidance of Madame Blanc, the Company’s revolutionary artistic director, she befriends another dancer, Sara, who shares her suspicions that the Matrons, and the Company itself, may be harboring a dark and menacing secret.
Suspiria will arrive this fall.
