New Details Revealed Concerning New Disney+ ROGUE ONE Prequel Series Based on Cassian Andor
Now that we know how great a Disney+ Star Wars series can be, it’s time to get excited for one of the ones coming up that we have a few new details on. The untitled Star Wars/Cassian Andor series will be a prequel to the story told in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, and will bring back Diego Luna to play the role. But the time period it will go back to may be further back than we thought.
According to a report from DiscussingFilm, “that the series will be providing flashbacks to Cassian Andor’s early days… It seems we are going to see why he joined this fight at such a young age. Lucasfilm is currently eyeing to cast 9 year old and 13 year old versions of Cassian Andor. Lucasfilm is also eyeing to cast a 9 year old sister of Cassian Andor’s. If I put on my theory hat for a quick second, we can guess that Cassian’s sister potentially dies in some sort of conflict leading to him joining the Rebellion to avenge his sister.”
Remember in Rogue One when Cassian says, “I’ve been in this fight since I was six years old. You’re not the only one who lost everything. Some of us just decided to do something about it.” Now we’ll know his story.
The only other thing we know for sure about the series is that Alan Tudyk will be back to reprise his role of droid K-2SO, with Stephen Schiff, Tony Gilroy, and George Lucas getting writing credits. Otherwise, things are being kept pretty buttoned up. But that’s been half the fun of The Mandalorian, not knowing too much in advance, or even getting previews. It’s been more fun that way, and I’m excited to find out more about Cassian Andor.
