Someone Put Harrison Ford in The SOLO Trailer and it is Every Kind of Wrong

Creating fan trailers is nothing new. Wishing for older actors to play younger characters is not new. Many have been dubious of Alden Ehrenreich playing a young Han Solo in Solo: A Star Wars Story since, let’s face it, who could replace Harrison Ford? However, reviews have been very positive. This doesn’t stop fans from seeing what it would be like to see a young Ford in the role. Nick Acosta has done just that and inserted Ford’s face over Ehrenreich’s and it is something. I personally just feel like it’s all kinds of wrong, especially since the voice is still Ehrenreich, but you watch and tell me what you think.

Solo: A Star Wars story opens May 26th. Whenever you recast an iconic character like Han Solo there will be controversy. Watching the trailer featuring new actor Alden Ehrenreich in the titular role it’s hard to get used to. By all accounts Alden seems like great actor and good guy. But I couldn’t help wonder what would this movie would look like if you could magically transport a young Harrison Ford to play his iconic character. So using a variety of digital compositing software and some editing tricks I tried to make that happen. ‘True Solo’ utilizes clips of Harrison Ford before he acted in the original Star Wars. I farmed movies, tv episodes and even still photographs that I graphed onto Alden Ehrenreich’s Face and animated. Notable clips are from his early roles in American Graffiti, The Conversation, and a very bizarre appearance on the 60’s sitcom “Love American Style.” Love American Style: https://youtu.be/o7tTwU0GBLg?t=4m36s This continues my series of videos that takes actors from one movie and lets then preform with an actor in a completely separate film. I previously had the 60’s San Francisco dective Frank Bullitt share the screen with Dirty Harry in “A Dirty Bullitt”. For it’s 50th anniversary I had the crew of the Enterprise meet each other in “Live Long and Star Star Trek.” Star Wars is a property of Disney-Lucasfilm. This is a portfolio piece. Chilax.
