Something is Coming: Great IMAX Poster For 10 CLOVERFIELD LANE
I'm really looking forward to 10 Cloverfield Lane, Bad Robot's upcoming Cloverfield sequel (that reportedly won't feature the same monster that terrorized NYC in the first movie). I have my expectations in check as to what kind of movie it will be — which seems very important for this particular film — but even if it's just a contained thriller without many noticeable connections to the original at all, I'm curious to watch the feature directorial debut of Dan Trachtenberg (former co-host of The Totally Rad Show and director of Portal: No Escape) and see what he does with that great cast (Mary Elizabeth Winstead, John Goodman, and John Gallagher Jr).
In the meantime, /Film has debuted the poster at the top of this page, which is by artist Ape Meet Girl (real name: Kevin M. Wilson) that was created at the behest of IMAX and producer J.J. Abrams. I love the visual of Winstead's character trapped in the mailbox, and how this poster incorporates elements of the traditional one sheet as well. It's a really cool design.
10 Cloverfield Lane hits theaters on March 11th.
