SONIC THE HEDGEHOG 2 Gets 2022 Release Date and Title Announcement Promo
Paramount Pictures has announced the release date and official title for the upcoming sequel to it Sonic The Hedgehog movie. It will be titled… are you ready for it? Sonic the Hedgehog 2! The announcement is described as being a “groundbreaking, thought-provoking, extremely obvious announcement.”
The film is set to be released in theaters on April 8th, 2022, the Ben Schwartz will reprise his role at Sonic. No other casting announcements have been made, but it’s believed that the original cast of the first film will return for the sequel. Schwartz said in a recent interview with CB:
"I know that the sequel's happening, and they're gonna start filming soon. But because I'm the voice behind a speaker, I don't know any exact dates or anything like that. But I'm excited, I read the script and it's awesome."
The main cast for the original Sonic the Hedgehog movie includes Jim Carrey as Sonic’s rival, Doctor Robotnik/Eggman, and James Marsden as Wachowski, a police officer who teams up with Sonic. The one thing that I’m actually looking forward to in the sequel is seeing Carrey back in the role of Robotnik. He was my favorite part of the first movie.
Jeff Fowler will return to direct the sequel and it will be written by Pat Casey and Josh Miller, with Neal H. Mortiz, Toby Ascher and Toru Nakahara all returning to produce.
