SONIC THE HEDGEHOG 4 Teaser Brings Back Jim Carrey’s Robotnik - "The Chaos Has Only Just Begun"
The first teaser for Sonic the Hedgehog 4 just dropped, and it confirms that Jim Carrey is back as Dr. Ivo Robotnik.
The teaser is short but loaded with teases. It kicks off with Amy Rose’s hammer soaring into the sky before it shatters, sending glowing fragments and gems everywhere.
Each gem reveals a familiar face from the Sonic universe, almost like a roll call of what’s to come. One of those fragments shows Robotnik, confirming that the delightfully unhinged villain somehow survived his supposed sacrifice from the last movie.
Amy Rose is also stepping firmly into the spotlight this time. After popping in to save the day in Sonic the Hedgehog 3, she’s now a central player, with Kristen Bell lending her voice to the fan-favorite character.
The returning cast includes Ben Schwartz, Idris Elba, James Marsden, Tika Sumpter, Ben Kingsley, Matt Berry, Colleen O’Shaughnessey, Lee Majdoub, Nick Offerman, Richard Ayoade, and Keanu Reeves.
Director Jeff Fowler is back at the helm, working again from a script by Pat Casey and Josh Miller, which should keep the tone consistent with what fans have loved so far.
The series has already crossed the billion-dollar mark, and Paramount clearly isn’t slowing things down. There’s even a spin-off film already slated for 2028, with current rumors pointing to a story centered entirely on Reeves’ Shadow.
For now, though, Sonic the Hedgehog 4 will be racing into theaters on March 19, 2027.
