SONIC THE HEDGEHOG Movie is Going into Development at Paramount Pictures
Paramount Pictures has acquired the rights to the classic SEGA video game Sonic the Hedgehog and they plan on adapting it into a movie.
The film was previously in development at Sony Pictures and the creative team that was involved with the project at the studio are still attached now that it's moved to Paramount. That team includes producers Neal H. Moritz and Tim Miller (Deadpool). The film will be directed by Jeff Fowler, who is one of Miller's Blur Studios collaborators.
No plot details have been revealed yet, but the game focuses on the world’s fastest hedgehog and his friends, who battle their arch nemesis, Doctor Eggman.
Sonic the Hedgehog has had a couple animated series over the years, and he made his first big screen appearance in Disney's Wreck-It-Ralph. I think this could turn out to be a really fun movie. It seems like the creative team they got to develop it will give fans something that they'll enjoy, but only time will tell.
Judging from what you know about the movie so far, are you excited to see how it turns out?
