SONS OF FAERIELL Will Be a Semi-Cooperative Board Game From Tabula Games
Tabula Games is getting ready to launch a Kickstarter campaign for their latest game, Sons of Faeriell. The game is described as a semi-cooperative strategic eurogame for 2-4 players. Each player will control a different tribe of Weybits, “the youngest sons of Faeriell.” These Weybits are industrious humanoids trying to preserve the environment and aid the Great Guardians. Weybit Heroes are customized by their choice in Tribe Masks which are actually worn by the minis! Each colored mask has a different specialization and Heroes can gain upgrades via Perks.
Faeriell is a verdant land of forests, mountains and lakes, set at risk by the menace of Corruption. All players have to face this threat, while pursuing their individual Achievements. If they fail to constrain the rise of Corruption, everyone loses the game. Collecting the most Achievements, while avoiding this fatal outcome, allows one player to win the game.
The semi-cooperative aspect comes from the fact that 1 player can change sides and become corrupted. They gain the Corrupted Sower Hero and try to win the game by corrupting everything in sight.
I love the way things look so far and will be checking it out later. The official Kickstarter campaign will launch on October 28 at 5:15 PM CET. You can find out more and sign up to be notified on the official Sons of Faeriell site.
