Sony Is Developing Another Spider-Man Universe Film with Roberto Orci
Sony Pictures has another untitled Spider-Man project in development, and they have hired The Amazing Spider-Man 2 co-writer Roberto Orci to write the script.
According to The Warp, this film will not be part of the MCU, it will be a part of Sony’s own Spider-Man universe, which is kind of being connected to the MCU in certain ways. Some of the other Spider-Man films currently in development and that have been rumored to be in the works include Venom 2, Morbius, Silver and Black, Silk, Spider-Woman, Nightwatch, Sinister Six, and Madame Web.
I’m curious to see what comes of this and what Spider-Man connected character this will be. The future of Sony’s Spider-Man universe is going to be interesting, especially after they eventually part ways with Marvel. Regardless of what happens, Sony is building a big universe of their own to play around in. It’s just going to be hard for them to continue that same level of filmmaking quality that they’ve been enjoying with their time at Marvel.
