Sony Pictures Rumored to Be Working on at Least Two New Animated SPIDER-MAN Movies

Sony Pictures Animation Department has been working hard to bring us the third and final film in the Miles Morales Spider-Man saga, with Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse, which is expected to hit screens later this year. The first two films have been critical, box-office and fan successes, with incredible animation and great story telling. But they may just be the beginning of the animated Spider-Man era.

According to scooper Daniel Richtman (via Toonado.com), Sony Animation is developing at least two more Spider-Man animated movies. Unfortunately, no further information on those projects has been shared, however, we expect Miles Morales' story to end with Beyond the Spider-Verse, especially with rumors of there being live-action plans for the young web-slinger.

Producer and writer Phil Lord previously said of the upcoming threequel:

"It will be a very satisfying conclusion. It goes even more emotionally deep into the relationships between Miles, Gwen, Peter B., [and Miles’] parents. The big thing that’s interesting for Miles [in Beyond the Spider-Verse] is how do you deal with a sense of betrayal and turn it into something affirmative? And I think that the thing that we try to do with these movies is represent goodness and show how the love that the characters in the movie have for Miles translates into his growth and success."

Which Spider-Man universe characters would you like to see explored in the animated Sony universe?
