Sony Pictures Still Has Plans to Produce BLACK CAT and SILVER SABLE Movies
When Sony Pictures started planning out there own Marvel Cinematic Universe with Spider-Man characters, they were originally going to make a Black Cat and Silver Sable team-up movie. They later scrapped that idea and instead wanted to develop two separate films, one for each character.
It’s been awhile since there’s been an update on what’s going on with these movies, but it sounds like the studio is still working on them. Producer Amy Pascal was recently asked in an interview with ScreenRant what villain she thinks deserves to be brought to the big screen, and she responded with the following:
"I like Black Cat a lot, I think she is a really great character. We had her a little bit in the Amazing [Spider-Man] movie, but she's kind of that character that we didn't really turn into the Black Cat yet. I think that's a really great character."
She was then asked about the status of the Black Cat and Silver Sable projects, and in regards to that, this is what she said:
"We're still working on that. I think we have plans for that."
Venom ended up being a big success for Sony, so it makes sense that they would want to move forward with the other film projects they were planning. Right now the studio is developing a Morbius the Living Vampire movie with Jared Leto. They are also working on a sequel to Venom, and I’m sure there are a few other projects they have cooking that they haven’t announced yet.
As of right now, these are separate from the MCU, but there is always the possibility that Black Cat or Silver Sable could end up being included in a third Spider-Man film that is connected to the MCU! We’ll just have to wait and see how things play out.
How would you like to see Black Cat and Silver Sable brought to the big screen?
