Sony Scraps Their Silver Sable and Black Cat Film and is Instead Developing Solo Films For Them

Sony Pictures has made a big change to their Marvel movie lineup. According to Deadline, the studio has scrapped the Silver & Black movie. The new plan is to make two separate solo films. One will revolve around the war criminal bounty hunter Silver Sable and the other will focus on the burglar Black Cat.

The report goes on to say that the writer and director who was developing Silver & Black, Gina Prince-Bythwood, will depart but still be a producer on the movie. The studio will go out and hire a couple new female directors to take on the projects.

I actually like the idea of separate films with these characters a lot more. They have enough story to play with. It will also give them the ability to properly build up and establish the characters and then eventually bring them together if that's something they want to do.

I think it's amusing how everyone is calling this Sony's Spider-Man Cinematic Universe because Spider-Man isn't even involved with any of these films!

Anyway, what do you all think about Sony developing separate solo films for Silver Sable and Black Cat?
