Sony Will Release 13 Movies in 4DX Format in 2019

If you’ve been wanting to try 4DX films, 2019 may be the year for you. THR reports that Sony has made a deal with CJ 4DPLEX, a Korean exhibition innovator. This deal means that 13 of Sony’s films in 2019 will be released in 4DX, and they’re not the small films. The films include Men in Black: International, Spider-Man: Far From Home, Zombieland 2, and more.

If you’re not aware of what 4DX is, it is a theater format that attempts to further immerse you into the film you are watching. Some of the 21 sensory effects added to the experience include seats that move and vibrate to correlate with the action happening on screen, scents, water, snow, and much more. 4DX has already been installed in 583 theaters across 60 countries and in 2018 it raked in $250 million at the box office.
