Sony's KRAVEN THE HUNTER Marvel Movie Casts Fred Hechinger as Chameleon

White Lotus actor Fred Hechinger is set to join Aaron Taylor-Johnson in Sony Pictures’ upcoming Marvel movie Kraven the Hunter. Johnson is taking on the title role, while Hechinger will play his half-brother, who is also known as Chameleon. The character is usually depicted in the comics as a master of disguises, known for his ability to impersonate virtually anybody.

The movie also stars Russell Crowe, but we still don’t know who he’s playing in the movie. J.C. Chandor (Triple Frontier) is set to direct from a script written by Art Marcum and Matt Holloway (Iron Man). The initial draft of the script was written by Richard Wenk. Avi Arad and Matt Tolmach are producing the film.

Kraven the Hunter is described as being of Russian origin, with "superhuman strength, speed, stamina, agility, and reflexes." It goes on to say that this "maniacal big-game hunter seeks to defeat Spider-Man to prove that he is the greatest hunter in the world." He’s also described as a "Bourne-like bounty hunter.”

We don’t have any story details to share on the film, but I really hope that it ends up being good because Kraven is a favorite villain character of mine.

The film will be released theatrically on January 13, 2023.
