Sony's UNCHARTED Movie Loses Another Director
Director Dan Trachtenberg (10 Cloverfield Lane) has dropped out as the director of Sony Pictures’ adaptation of the hit PlayStation video game Uncharted. This is another one of those things that we can blame on “creative differences”. Trachtenberg had this to say on Twitter:
Listen, guys, I’ve been dreaming of making movies since I was 3 years old. And throughout these years I’ve been hearing of directors leaving projects over “creative differences” and wondering what that was about. So, I guess, what I’m saying is...sometimes dreams DO come true! :)

Tom Holland is still attached to star in the film and the studio is hoping to hire a new director by the end of the summer. The movie is the first film that will be produced under Sony PlayStation Productions, which was set up at the studio last year.
The story for the film is said to take place when Nathan Drake and Sully, his surrogate father, were much younger. “It’s an origin story that evolves out of the game but is not from the game." Most of the fans of the game don’t like the direction that they are taking the movie, but this aspect of it hasn’t changed.
Maybe Trachtenberg got mad at them over the whole Spider-Man and Marvel mess and didn’t want to work with them anymore because of it!
Sony still plans on getting the film into production early next year so that they can get it into theaters on December 18th, 2020.
