Sounds Like Kevin Bacon Would Play Freddy Krueger if He Had the Opportunity
Last year we learned that New Line Cinema was going to produce another remake of A Nightmare on Elm Street. There hasn’t been any new news on that since. Who knows if it’s even still in development. If the movie production does eventually move forward, a new actor will have to be cast in the role of Freddy Krueger. How about Kevin Bacon? He seems to like the idea!
Twitter user Bettie Toxic posted the following tweet on her feed recently:
If a nightmare on elm street gets rebooted again can we please somehow get @kevinbacon as Freddy? I think he'd be fantastic.

Bacon responded with:
I like the way you think Bettie https://t.co/oB5HyMo6tG

Obviously, this isn’t official news or anything. The actor just seems like he would be up to take on the wickedly crazy role if it was made available to him.
The reason for this post is because the thought of Bacon in the role of Krueger is seriously intriguing. He’s been involved with several horror-themed films in his career such as Tremors, Stir of Echoes, Flatliners, Hallow Man, and The Darkness. I’d love to see his take on Freddy!
It's cool to see the actor go out of his way to express his interest in playing the character on Twitter. If New Line actually does move forward with a new remake of A Nightmare on Elm Street, I hope they shoot Bacon an offer.
