SPACEBALLS 2 Is Given a Spring 2027 Release Date by Amazon MGM Studios

Amazon MGM Studios has given the long-awaited sequel Spaceballs 2 a release date of April 23, 2027. The film, directed by Josh Greenbaum (Will & Harper) and written by Josh Gad, Dan Hernandez and Benji Samit, has a storyline that’s being kept secret, but I think we can expect a fan-fueled and dedicated follow-up to the first 1987 cult Mel Brooks-directed and starring feature.

Returning cast members include Brooks, Rick Moranis, Bill Pullman, George Wynder and Daphne Zuniga with new thespians including Gad, Keke Palmer, Lewis Pullman and Anthony Carrigan.

I honestly love every single member of this cast, but I am a little emotional about one in particular. I grew up repeatedly watching and loving Little Shop of Horrors, Honey, I Shrunk the Kids, Parenthood, and Ghostbusters, and I have been waiting for Rick Moranis to return to acting for a long time. I’m so excited to see him return to the screen for this film!

With the release date set, we should be seeing photos soon, and hopefully a trailer in the next few months. Stay tuned for updates.
