When it comes to Marvel’s Spider-Man 3, we know that anything can happen. The casting news that we’ve seen up until this point has been insanely exciting!
We learned that Alfred Molina will be back as Doctor Octopus, Andrew Garfield will be back as his version of Spider-Man, Tobey Maguire is in talks to return, Kirsten Dunst will return as Mary Jane Watson, and Emma Stone could “reprise her role as Gwen Stacy, pregnancy permitting.” That’s on top of Jamie Foxx coming back as Electro. Oh, and there are reports of Charlie Cox’s Daredevil appearing as well!
Now we can add on to the madness with the rumor that Willem Dafoe and Thomas Haden Church are currently in talks to reprise their roles as Green Goblin and Sandman!
The news comes from The Illuminardi, who says, “It seems that they were on to something, as Willem Dafoe and Thomas Hayden Church are both attached to return to the project as well. According to our source, their deals are still being finalized, but they are indeed a part of the Spider-Man 3 masterplan.”
While this has yet to be confirmed by the studio, it’s not hard to imagine that this could actually happen. I mean, look at what we’ve seen so far!
Spider-Man 3 is being directed by Jon Watts, and it also stars Benedict Cumberbatch as Doctor Strange, Tom Holland, Zendaya, Marisa Tomei, Tony Revolori, and Jacob Batalon.
