SPIDER-MAN 4 Rumored to Lead Directly Into Next AVENGERS Movie
News has been slow to come out about the upcoming Marvel movie Spider-Man 4. The studio has been ambiguous about the story and when we would see the return of Peter Parker after the devastating events that took place in Spider-Man: No Way Home. But according to a new rumor, we may be seeing the film sooner than we expected.
According to insider Daniel Richtman, the script is still being written, but Marvel/Sony hope to release Spider-Man 4 before the next Avengers film (still titled The Kang Dynasty for now, but that's expected to change), and the story will lead directly into the events of that movie and Avengers: Secret Wars.
Plot details are still a mystery, but a previous rumor claimed that Sony Pictures is eager to replicate some of No Way Home's box office glory by bringing Toby Maguire and Andrew Garfield back for the next solo Spidey adventure.
We've also heard that Wilson Fisk/Kingpin is set to appear, but Vincent D'Onofrio is not believed to have entered talks.
No Way Home writers Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers are currently working on the script, but the story and possible villains are being kept quiet. Most of Spidey's major bad guys have already been used in previous films, but a recent rumor claimed that the still untitled sequel will feature a villain we haven't seen in live-action yet.
Tom Holland will return for the next movie, but it his run as Spider-Man is probably coming to a close, as he’s previously stated that he is looking forward to moving on from the role when the time has come. Although I wouldn’t be surprised to see him return for the upcoming Avengers event films, then maybe see him make his exit.
