SPIDER-MAN Director Jon Watts Would Love Kraven the Hunter to Be the Next Villain

I’ve been wanting to see Spider-Man face off with Kraven the Hunter on the big screen for years! The stories involving those two characters are great! I have no idea if or when that will ever happen, but director Jon Watts would love Kraven the Hunter to be the next villain!

During an interview with Uproxx, the filmmaker said, “Oh, I would love Kraven. It’s just the trick of how do you do Kraven in a movie?”

Although, at this point nothing is set in stone for the third Spider-Man film. The director admits that he doesn’t know who the next villain will be:

“I mean, yeah, I always just try to start with what haven’t we seen before? And there’s so many Spider-Man villains. I mean, the fact that I got to, in a way, bring Hydro-Man and Molten Man to a movie, really, I get a kick out of that, even if they are fake. But, no, I don’t know who’s next. I always like to think about it in terms of what’s going to be the most difficult thing for Peter. So that’s going to be the next trick.”

Well, we haven’t seen Kraven before and the end of Spider-Man: Far From Home easily sets up the introduction of Kraven! If you haven’t seen the movie yet…

At the end of Spider-Man: Far From Home, the Web-Slinger is painted as the big bad villain and his secret identity is outed by Mysterio. It would make so much sense to introduce Kraven into the story at this point to hunt down Spider-Man/Peter Parker because people will want justice. There would be a lot of people in the film rooting for Kraven to hunt down and kill Spider-Man for what he is accused of doing.

I can just seen the next movie starting out with Kraven cleaning one of his weapons as he is watching J. Jonah Jameson rant and rave about Spider-Man’s villainous ways.
