SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING Director Suggests Bringing Blade Into The Sequel!
It was recently revealed that the sequel to Spider-Man: Homecoming would not feature Iron Man. It's been said there will be a different Marvel hero join Spider-Man in his next solo adventure. It wasn't revealed who that character would be, but there's someone that director Jon Watts would love to play with... and that someone is Blade!
During a recent interview with We Got This Covered, the director was asked what villain he would like to see in the sequel and in his response he said:
“Morbius is kind of cool! The tone of the character is pretty dark, but the vampire/Marvel Universe thing is pretty cool. Maybe we could get Blade to show up, too? That’d be neat.”
I'm a fan of Morbius the Living Vampire and I've always wanted to see Spider-Man take him on in a film. The addition of Blade in that possible scenario makes his inclusion even more enticing! Spider-Man and Blade fighting alongside each other to take down Morbius would be so damn cool!
Just in case you don't read the comics, Blade actually obtained his unique vampire powers while hunting down Morbius with Spider-Man. Morbius attacked them and ended up biting Blade in the process. This gave the vampire hunter the speed and strength of a vampire but the sun doesn't bother him.
I know it's a longshot, but I would love to see this eventually happen! It's certainly a possibility that Watts and Marvel should seriously look at because I think fans would flip over a Spider-Man and Blade movie team-up! What do you think?
