SPIDER-MAN: NO WAY HOME Reused Footage From Spider-Man Movies of The Past
Some interesting details have surfaced regarding some of the footage that was used in Spider-Man: No Way Home. If you haven’t seen the movie yet, though, you might want to skip this because I get into some spoiler territory. If you have seen the film, read ahead!
One of the most exciting aspects of this movie for me was seeing the return of some of the villains. Seeing Alfred Molina as Doc Ock and Willem Dafoe as Green Goblin was awesome. In fact, Dafoe stole every scene he was in! Damn, I love his version of Green Goblin and how freakin’ brutal he was.
The film also featured Jamie Foxx as Electro along with Sandman and Lizard. But, through most of the film Sandman was in his sand form and Lizard was a lizard. It wasn’t until the very end of the film that we got to see these characters in their human forms.
Well, it turns out the footage of Thomas Haden Church and Rhys Ifans at the end of the movie, when they transform back into their human forms was actually reused from from the Spider-Man film of the past. The footage of Church was reused from Spider-Man 3 and the bit featuring Ifans was taken from the end of The Amazing Spider-Man.
Neither Church or Ifans have been involved in the movie's press tour, but regardless of how their characters were presented in the movie, it was great to see them both appear in the movie, even if they didn’t shoot anything new for it. I just love how the creative team got creative in bringing these characters back for the movie!
