Spidey Swings Through Midtown in Explosive New Set Videos From SPIDER-MAN: BRAND NEW DAY
Things are heating up on the set of Destin Daniel Cretton's Spider-Man: Brand New Day, and fans are getting an exciting new look at the web-slinger in action.
New photos and videos from the Glasgow-based shoot reveal Spider-Man swinging through a bustling Midtown Manhattan during what looks like an adrenaline-pumping chase sequence.
With production in full swing, we see Spidey back in full costume, racing through the city and leaping over a massive explosion. The chase appears to center around an armored vehicle, which is believed to be linked to The Punisher's growing arsenal.
Practical stunts are clearly a priority for Cretton. Just days earlier, images surfaces of Spider-Man perched atop the same armored vehicle, attempting to tear his way in. Rumors continue to swirl about the scene featuring Frank Castle locked onto The Scorpion's trail, with Spidey caught in the middle.
This shift to a street-level narrative has fans excited, especially after concerns that Brand New Day might revisit the multiverse plotline and reunite Tom Holland, Tobey Maguire, and Andrew Garfield. But that doesn't seem to be the case.
"I think there’s a promise at the end of No Way Home, that for as sad as it is that Peter is forgotten by everyone in his life, we are seeing for the first time in the Tom Holland Spider-Man stories him being a proper Spider-Man," Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige recently explained.
"Him being by himself, dedicated to saving the city, and dealing with, for lack of better terms, street-level crime, as opposed to world-ending events."
Feige continued: "So when you do that, you say, okay, who are the other street-level characters that we’ve never seen him interact with? And of course, I love that The Punisher started in a Spider-Man comic.
“That great cover…I don’t want to say too much, but Destin...he's got eight or nine comic covers up on his wall in his art department that he is bringing to life in this movie, which is super cool."
Although it wasn't Holland in the suit for these stunts, the action gives us a solid idea of what to expect when the actor returns to the role. With Jon Bernthal just wrapping The Punisher Special Presentation in New York, there's a strong chance we'll see him joining the shoot soon.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day is being directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, with a script by Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers. The cast features Holland, Bernthal, Mark Ruffalo, Zendaya, Sadie Sink, Michael Mando, and Liza Colón-Zayas.
The film swings into theaters on July 31, 2026. Until then, check out the latest set footage and photos posted on X and get ready for a web-slinging adventure unlike any we've seen before.
