Spooky Fun Trailer for R.L. Stine’s PUMPKINHEAD Promises Halloween Scares
Spooky season is officially here, and horror fans are getting a wicked treat with the trailer for R.L. Stine’s Pumpkinhead. The new young-adult horror film brings the legendary author’s signature chills to the screen, and it looks like a perfect Halloween watch.
The story centers on Sam, a teenager who thinks his life is turned upside down when his family moves to the small town of Redhaven. Things get much darker when his brother Finn mysteriously vanishes, and even stranger, no one in town, including their own mother, remembers he ever existed.
The description teases, “Sam, his friend Becka, and Rusty, the town’s most eccentric outcast, must stop a harvest curse before Finn is lost forever.”
Classic R.L. Stine, with the creepy small-town vibes, cursed legends, and kids who have to face down terrors the adults ignore.
The cast includes Bean Reid, Adeline Lo (Sorry For Your Cost), Kevin McNulty (Snakes on a Plane, The Invisible), Bob Frazer (Safe Haven, Motherland: Fort Salem), Matty Finochio (Love Hard, The Order), and Seth Isaac Johnson (My Old Ass, The Killing).
Jem Garrard wrote and directed the film.
Stine’s influence on YA horror is legendary, from Goosebumps to Fear Street and The Haunting Hour, and Pumpkinhead looks like it continues that tradition. The film promises to deliver supernatural scares with a modern twist, perfect for younger horror fans while still carrying enough creepy atmosphere to keep older audiences hooked.
R.L. Stine’s Pumpkinhead premieres exclusively on Tubi October 17, just in time for Halloween.
