STAN AGAINST EVIL Trailer Looks Like IFC's Version of ASH VS. EVIL DEAD

I wonder if the executives at IFC are mad that they missed out on Ash vs. Evil Dead? This trailer for the network's new show Stan Against Evil certainly indicates that's the case, because the tonal similarities are pretty obvious from the get-go. Scrubs all-star John C. McGinley is playing the Bruce Campbell-esque role in this series, in which he stars as a former police chief who reluctantly teams up with his female replacement in order to save their small town from the demons who are haunting it.

What do you think about this one, horror fans? Stan Against Evil has a special sneak peek of the premiere on Halloween night at 11pm, and the first two episodes officially air on November 2 at 10 and 10:30pm.

Stan Against Evil follows Stan Miller (McGinley), a perpetually disgruntled former sheriff of a small New England town who was forced into retirement. Stan has trouble relinquishing his authority to Evie Barret (Janet Varney), the tough and beautiful new sheriff in town, but they form an unlikely alliance when both begin to realize things are not quite right in their quaint New England town. Together, they valiantly fight a plague of unleashed demons that have been haunting the town, which just happens to be built on the site of a massive 17th century witch burning.

One man. 172 witches. Stan (John C. McGinley) and the town of Willard's Mill get ready for the paranormal fight of their lives.
