Stan Lee and Marvel used to Troll DC Comics back in the 1970s

Long before the East coast vs West coast beef in the hip hop world there was the Marvel vs DC rivalry. Now more than ever has that rivalry heated up since major Marvel and DC properties are battling it out at the box office. Stan Lee has been trolling DC for decades, but nothing is more apparent than the disgust he shows for DC in an old interview (below). The interview was done at Virginia Tech University back in 1977, in it Lee claims that DC is constantly copying Marvel in an attempt to sell more comic books.

Even though Lee claimed that DC copies some of Marvel's best-selling covers, he admitted that Marvel was often inspired by their competitor's work. Even going as far as admitting that the they came up with The Fantastic Four after seeing DC's success with large team comics like Justice League of America. One thing Lee said:

"We used to have a lot of fun with them when we started outselling them. They studied our books, and they'd say, 'You know, I noticed they use a lot of red on their covers. Maybe that's it.' And they would start putting a lot of red on their covers. The minute we would learn of that, we would take all the red off our covers. And our books still sold better, and that would drive them crazy."
