Stan Lee Explains Why a STAR WARS and Marvel Movie Crossover Could Happen
I know a lot of us fans have been daydreaming about seeing the Star Wars universe crossover with the Marvel cinematic universe. It's something that is really easy to imagine, but would Disney ever do it? Stan Lee seems to think they could!
During an interview with The Big Issue, Lee explains why he thinks that this crossover could happen one day:
“Obviously the people who produce these [movies] are looking to be as successful as possible. If they feel that incorporating Star Wars with the Marvel characters will be very successful, they’ll find a way to do it. Can you imagine Spider-Man saying, 'May the force be with you'? It may come to that!”
Lee goes on to talk about how The Avengers allow for more characters to join in on the action.
“I created the Avengers by taking many of our characters and making a team out of them. We can have as many characters join the Avengers as we want to for future movies. That might be fun, all of a sudden Luke Skywalker is an Avenger!”
Lee has got quite an imagination. I'm not quite so sure it would work that way because Star Wars takes place a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away. So no, Luke Skywalker will not be an Avenger, and Spider-Man will never say "May the Force by with you" to him.
I don't think these two properties will ever crossover on the big screen, but if a crossover ever did happen, it would have to be a Guardians of the Galaxy type deal and it would have to feature characters from the Star Wars universe that haven't even been created yet. None of the characters in the Star Wars universe that currently exist would work because it would kind of be absurd.
Those are my thoughts, but what do you think about seeing these two properties crossover one day? Do you think Disney would ever do it? If so how do you think they would be able to effectively pull it off? What would you want to see happen in a crossover movie?
