Stan Lee Supports Casting of Zendaya in SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING

As if it would come as any surprise, Stan Lee has no issue with Zendaya being cast in the role of Mary Jane Watson in Spider-Man: Homecoming. Collider reports that the Spider-Man creator talked to the Toronto Sun and said this about the actress:

“If she is as good an actress as I hear she is, I think it’ll be absolutely wonderful … The colour of their skin doesn’t matter, their religion doesn’t matter. All that matters is that this the right person for the role.”

Not too surprisingly, many of the founders of the comic book world were far ahead of their time in representing minorities in comics. From what I saw at SDCC, I think people will like Zendaya as MJ, even if she's a little different than the version we all know.

Side note: I've heard a lot of people who've made the remark they have "no idea" who Zendaya is. You probably do, you just haven't made the connection. If you have kids who watch Disney Channel, she's K.C. Undercover or the star of Shake it Up or in the movie Zapped. You literally can't turn that channel on without seeing her! She also sings this song:
