Stan Lee Wants SILVER SURFER To Get His Own Movie More Than Any Other Character

There are a ton of characters in the Marvel universe. A lot of the more popular characters currently have their own films and TV series, but that that doesn't mean there isn't room for a few more. Marvel Studios, Fox, and Sony are all mostly playing with the same characters that they've been playing with for years. It'd be nice to see some other heroes and villains from Marvel's lineup get the spotlight.

Stan Lee knows who he would like to see make his way to the big screen! During an interview with SYFY Wire, he revealed that he would like to see Silver Surfer get his own movie more than any character. He explains:

“He’s the one I want to see more. He’s the most philosophical of all the characters I’ve ever worked on. And I have an idea for my cameo in that one!”

I'm sure he does have an idea for a cameo! Yes, Lee is aware of Silver Surfer’s appearance in Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer, but he was more of a supporting character. Lee just hopes Norrin Radd gets another shot with his own movie.

I'd personally love to see that! Silver Surfer is such a rad character and I think a movie that revolves around him could be so freakin' epic. I'd actually love to see James Gunn play with the character, but that won't happen. Fox owns the Surfer, and as of right now there are no plans to make a movie with him, which is a shame. Fox is currently developing a Doctor Doom film with Noah Hawley. If that can happen, there's hope for a Silver Surfer movie!

There are so many stories that they could tell but two off the top of my head that would be cool to see adapted is Silver Surfer #1: The Origin of the Silver Surfer and Silver Surfer: Parable.

Here's a description of The Origin of the Silver Surfer:

The Silver Surfer is now trapped on Earth after rebelling against Galactus. He tries to help the human race, but they all fear him and attack him. He recalls his former life as Norrin Radd. It seems no matter what he will be discontent with his surroundings.
He travels to an ancient, abandoned city in the Himalayas. He is again attacked, this time by a group of Yeti. He now recalls once helping the Hulk, and how he was attacked for his kindness. He also remembers being betrayed by Doctor Doom and how he has difficulty trusting humans because of this incident.
As Norrin Radd, he dreamed of great things. He got his chance when a spaceship approached the planet. Scientists helped him to build a spacecraft. He flew to meet the invader, to find himself face to face with Galactus, the devourer of worlds. He pleads with Galactus to spare Zenn-La and offered himself as herald. Galactus accepts and Norrin is transformed into the Silver Surfer.
He says his good-byes to Shalla Bal and heads off into the unknown to find planets for Galactus to consume. Eventually this leads him to Earth, where he betrays Galactus to spare the planet. As punishment, he is trapped on Earth forever, never to soar the Universe again.

Here's a description of Parable

Galactus has converted humanity into his followers, and he's leading them to their doom! The planet-devouring demigod's only challenger is the hero he himself trapped on Earth: the Silver Surfer. It's a war for Earth's worship, but how much will be left when it's over? Plus: The Surfer must save his world and ours from the planet-sized peril posed by the Enslavers! With guest appearances by the Hulk, Spider-Man, Wolverine and more!

Are there any Silver Surfer story arcs that you would like to see made into a film? I wonder what stories Lee would like to see get adapted.
