STAR TREK Animated Series Gets Greenlight From Nickelodeon and We Have Story Details
It looks like kids are going to get a cool introduction to the world of Star Trek via a new animated series coming to Nickelodeon! The series got the greenlight and will be written by the awesome team of Dan and Kevin Hageman, who were the brilliant writers of Hotel Transylvania, The Lego Movie, The Ninjago movies, and Trollhunters.
Deadline described the series as:
It follows a group of lawless teens who discover a derelict Starfleet ship and use it to search for adventure, meaning and salvation.
Alex Kurtzman, who has executive produced multiple Star Trek movies and series in the past, had this to say about the upcoming series and the Hagemans being on board:
“Star Trek’s mission is to inspire generations of dreamers to build a brighter future. Dan and Kevin have crafted a story that honors its exploratory spirit in a way that’s never been done before, while the Nickelodeon team blew us away with their excitement at bringing ‘Trek’ to a younger generation around the world.”
I think this sounds really exciting! I wasn’t a fan of Star Trek as a kid, or of any of the series, really. But I have loved the movies so much, so I think this series could be really cool, and I have a lot of trust in the people in charge. Are you a fan of all things Star Trek? Do you have kids that might enjoy this series, and/or will you be checking it out yourself?
