STAR TREK: DISCOVERY Gets a Motion Poster and a Premiere Date

CBS All Access has confirmed that Star Trek: Discovery will premiere on Sunday, September, 24th. They even released a motion poster making the announcement, which you can check out below. It features the U.S.S. Discovery - NCC-1031 taking flight.

It was also revealed by Deadline that the 15-episode first season will be split into two. They say the first eight episodes will air on Sundays from September 24th through November 5th. The season then will resume with the second part of the season in January 2018.

After that first trailer was released, I got pretty excited about the series. I just hate that I have to subscribe to CBS All Access to watch it. I'll watch the first episode and if it doesn't blow me away, they aren't getting my money.

Star Trek: Discovery is set on a new ship and will follow new characters who embark on new adventurous missions while embracing the same ideology and hope for the future that inspired a generation of dreamers and doers. The trailer came with the tagline, "Before Kirk, Spock and the Enterprise there was Discovery".

The cast for the series includes Sonequa Martin-Green as First Officer Michael Burnham, Michelle Yeoh as Captain Philippa Georgiou.  Jason Isaacs as Captain Lorca, Doug Jones as science officer Saru, Anthony Rapp as fellow science officer Stamets, Terry Serpico as Starfleet admiral Anderson, Maulik Pancholy as chief medical officer Nambue, Sam Vartholomeos as junior Starfleet officer Connor, Mary Wiseman as Cadet Tilly, James Frain as Sarek, astrophysicist and father of Spock, Chris Obi as Klingon leader T’Kuvma, Mary Chieffo as L’Rell, a Klingon commander, Shazad Latif as Lieutenant Tyler, Rekha Sharma as Commander Landry, Kenneth Mitchell as Kol, Clare McConnell as Dennas,  Damon Runyan as Ujilli, and Rainn Wilson as Harry Mudd.
