Star Trek: Discovery star Sonequa Martin-Green is in negotiation to join LeBron James in Warner Bros.’ highly anticipated film Space Jam 2.

After all these years it’s going to be really interesting to see the Looney Tunes characters back in action with the NBA. I loved the first movie and I really hope that this sequel brings back that magic. Of course, I’m not the same hardcore fan of basketball as I was when I was a kid.

Space Jam 2 is being directed by Terence Nance, the creator of the HBO show Random Acts of Flyness. Black Panther director Ryan Coogler is also helping develop the movie as a producer along with James.

According to Variety, Martin-Green will take on the role of James’ wife in the story. I’ve enjoyed watching Martin-Green in Discovery and I think Space Jam 2 is a great film for her to be a part of.

The movie is set to hit theaters on July 16, 2021. What kind of story do you think Space Jam 2 will tell?
