STAR TREK II: THE WRATH OF KAHN is Getting a Theatrical Re-Release For It's 35th Anniversary

"I have and always shall be your friend."

Star Trek: The Wrath of Khan is my favorite Star Trek film and it also happens to be a movie that I've never seen on the big screen. That's about to change, though! Paramount Pictures has teamed up with Fathom Events to bring the film back to the big screen to celebrate its 35th anniversary.

It will return to theaters for two days. Those days will be September 10th and September 13th. The film that will be presented is a digitally remastered version of the Director's Cut and it will be coming to 600 theaters nationwide.

The screenings will also be accompanied by a new 18-minute in-depth interview with William Shatner talking about the film. This is an opportunity that I definitly don't want to miss out on. Shatner had this to say in a statement:

“Making Star Trek II seems like only yesterday. Even back then, we knew we were creating something really special, and to have The Wrath of Khan back on the big screen 35 years later is a wonderful testament both to the film itself and to the incredible passion of Star Trek fans.”

Tom Lucas, Fathom Events VP of Studio Relations added:

“Star Trek II holds a special place in the hearts of Star Trek fans. Fathom is proud to work with Paramount Pictures to present it again on the big screen, with all of its excitement, action, drama and emotion.”

You can see if The Wrath of Khan is playing in a theater near you and purchase tickets at the Fandom Events website. Just for fun, here's the original trailer for the movie!

Theatrical trailer remastered in 1080p. Kept the original audio. Enjoy. Remade the opening logos (including the Paramount logo as it was wobbly) and the end "Wrath of Khan" logo. Had to crop the background for it so it could fit to the theatrical display aspect ratio of the film.
