STAR TREK: LOWER DECKS Season 5 Trailer and Release Date Revealed From SDCC

In Saturday’s Hall H Star Trek panel, we were treated with a Star Trek: Lower Decks segment in which we got to see the trailer for the fifth and final season of the animated series, as well as an October release date. In attendance at the panel were series stars Tawny Newsome, Jack Quaid, Noël Wells, and Jerry O'Connell as well as Lower Decks executive producers Alex Kurtzman and Mike McMahan.

The show’s creators, stars and fans all conveyed a sadness when talking about the series coming to an end, and when asked by a fan what could be done about possibly getting another future season, McMahan stated that we should watch and rewatch this upcoming season, and be very vocal about how much we love it.

The panel was delightful with its participants being so funny and warm, and really connecting with the fans over a shared fandom.
