STAR TREK: PICARD Renewed for a Second Season at CBS All Access
The first season of Star Trek: Picard hasn’t even been released yet, but Jean-Luc Picard’s adventure will continue as CBS All Access has already renewed the series for a second season!
Fans are excited to see Patrick Stewart back in this iconic Star Trek role, and I’m happy to know that we’ll get at least two seasons of him playing Picard. The studio is obviously happy with how the first season is turning out, otherwise they wouldn‘t have renewed it.
In this next chapter of Picard’s life, he is going to embark on a mission to protect a mysterious and powerful young woman named Dahj (Isa Briones), who shares a connection with him. He assembles a small crew for a little galaxy-class or Sovereign-class flagship like the Enterprise. It’s not the best ship in the world, but it’ll get the job done.
His new crew includes cast members Santiago Cabrera as Cristobal “Chris” Rios, Michelle Hurd as Raffi Musiker, Alison Pill as Dr. Agnes Jurati, Harry Treadaway as Narek, and Evan Evagora as Elnor.
The series will also include Star Trek veterans Brent Spiner as Data from Star Trek: The Next Generation, Star Trek: Voyager’s Jeri Ryan as Seven of Nine, Jonathan Frakes as Will Riker, and Marine Sirtis as Deanna Troi. The Borg will also play a role in the series.
Alex Kurtzman, Michael Chabon, Akiva Goldsman, James Duff, Patrick Stewart, Heather Kadin, Rod Roddenberry, and Trevor Roth serve as executive producers; Aaron Baiers serves as co-executive producer; and Kirsten Beyer is supervising producer.
Season 1 of the Star Trek: Picard will premiere on Jan. 23, 2020.
