STAR TREK: PICARD Season 3 - THE NEXT GENERATION Cast Are More Than Cameos and Alison Pill Is Not in It

One of the things about Star Trek: Picard Season 3 that I’m excited about is the return of several characters from Star Trek: The Next Generation.

Patrick Stewart will once again be joined by Brent Spiner as Data, Jonathan Frakes as William T. Riker, and Marina Sirtis as Deanna Troy, who have all previously appeared in the series already. But, there are also some new additions including LeVar Burton as Geordi La Forg, Michael Dorn as Worf, and Gates McFadden as Beverly Crusher.

We didn’t really know how big of a part they would play in the story, but in a recent interview, Star Trek franchise head Alex Kurtzman says that they are going to be more than just cameo appearances. When asked about the return of the character, he said that they have a really good reason to bring them back and added:

"They're not cameos. I assure everybody they can just take that right off their plate. Yeah."

So these characters are actually going to have roles to place in this next chapter of the story and I can’t wait to see what that is!

It was also revealed that Alison Pill will not be a part of Season 3. She plays Dr. Agens Jurati, and she made the announcement herself in an interview with MovieWeb saying, "I know that season three will be the end. I wasn't a part of season three, so I don't have much to say about it in terms of spoilers. I will get to watch along with everybody else."

Jurati has had a wild story arc in Picard, and last week's episode brought some closure to that. We’ll just have to wait and see if Pill appears in Picard’s season finale.

Picard Season 2 and Season 3 shot back-to-back and Season 3 completed shooting last month.
