During the Star Trek: Strange New Worlds panel at Comic-Con, it was announced that there will be a major crossover in Season 2 with the animated comedy series Star Trek: Lower Decks!

This was a bit of fun news and Star Trek: Lower Decks stars Tawny Newsome and Jack Quaid crashed the Strange New Worlds panel to make the announcement that they will playing the live-action versions of their animated characters Ensign Beckett Mariner and Ensign Brad Boimler.

This crossover episode will be directed by Star Trek: The Next Generation vet Jonathan Frakes.

Co-showrunner said Executive Producer Henry Alonso Myers shared that the idea for the crossover was sparked by writer David Reed, who also writes on Prime Video’s The Boys.
