STAR TREK: STRANGE NEW WORLDS Season 3 Sneak Peek and Rhys Darby Will Guest Star
During the Star Trek Universe panel at New York Comic-Con, a new sneak peek was shared for Star Trek: Strange New Worlds Season 3.
In the clip, the intense sequence picks up from where Season 2 left off as Captain Pike continues to face off with the Gorn.
During the New York Comic-Con panel, it was also announced that actor Rhys Darby of Jumanji: The Next Level and Our Flag Means Death will be appear as a guest star sometime during Season 3. Henry Alonso Myers, co-showrunner on Strange New Worlds, said that Darby will be portraying “a character that will be familiar yet completely new to folks that know Star Trek.”
Alonso said, “If you know Star Trek, you will have a lot of fun with him, and we had more fun than I could possibly imagine with him.”
Star Trek: Strange New Worlds is set aboard the U.S.S. Enterprise in the years that Captain Christopher Pike captained the storied starship. The series follows Captain Pike, Science Officer Spock, Number One, and the rest of the U.S.S. Enterprise crew in the years before Captain Kirk boarded the starship, as they explore new worlds around the galaxy.
The series also stars Anson Mount as Captain Christopher Pike, Ethan Peck as Spock, Rebecca Romijn as Number One (Rebecca Romijn), Jess Bush as Nurse Christine Chapel, Christina Chong as La'an Noonien-Singh, Celia Rose Gooding as Cadet Nyota Uhura, Melissa Navia as Lt. Erica Ortegas, and Babs Olusanmokun as Dr. M'Benga.
It was also previously revealed that the upcoming season will feature “a Hollywood murder mystery [episode] rooted in Star Trek reality.”
