The first season of Star Wars: Ahsoka may have come to an end last year, but Lucasfilm has released a brand new behind-the-scenes featurette for the series and it focuses on the the legacy of Huyang.
You can learn more about the origins of Huyang and what went into creating his live action version of the character for Star Wars: Ahsoka. They put a lot of time and care to bring the Jedi order's oldest instructor to life.
Huyang is a fascinating droid character known for his wisdom, longevity, and unique role within the Jedi Order. Huyang is a Mark IV architect droid professor, who served as a mentor and guide to countless younglings for thousands of years, aiding them in the intricate process of constructing their lightsabers.
Stationed aboard the Jedi vessel Crucible, he provided invaluable knowledge about lightsaber designs, kyber crystal selection, and Jedi traditions. Despite his mechanical nature, Huyang exhibits an interesting personality, combining an almost paternal care for his students with a sharp wit and dry humor.
His extensive memory banks hold a treasure trove of Jedi history, making him a living archive of the Order’s ancient customs and practices.
This featurette will be included in the special features for the upcoming Blu-ray released on Decemeber 3rd.
